A new Beta update of Ywriter Android (2023.23.02) is available.
Beta (early access unstable) updates are recieved from the Play Store. To join the beta, click the beta opt-in link on the yWriter Play Store page from your Android device.
With such a large change to the save system there's a greater chance of bugs (e.g. save data loss) despite my testing. As such, please treat this beta version with extra caution when editing your files and make sure to take a backup of your project.
This change has been released to the main version of yWriter.
You can now choose to open a yWriter file from many useful options - cloud storage, USB, local Documents, Downloads, etc. through the the Open Project menu. You can still open existing projects and backups from the internal App Folder, but you can't save new projects there any more. You can tap the Tutorial button on the main page in the app for a very brief explanation.
The User Guide on the yWriter wiki is not yet updated, so please feel free to ask if you have any questions about how it works.
I've removed the option to select yWriter in the 'Open with...' context menu from cloud storage etc. You can do this by navigating to the file from the yWriter app with Open Project instead. I'll likely re-add it in future, but for now I just wanted get the basics working with the new system.
